Christle launched her career in the travel industry 25 years ago as a Sales Manager for a large regional travel agency.
She aided in the opening of a new downtown location and grew revenues to add a staff of 10 travel agents before moving into the car rental industry. She then spent almost 15 years with National Car Rental as a Director, Strategic Accounts, where she was responsible for negotiating strategic, needs-based contracts with senior/executive level management of global corporations and local state departments for a seven state territory. Her existing and prospective accounts spent approximately $190 million in car rental expenditures ($1.9 billion in air) annually.
Christle transitioned to the “buyer” side of the industry nine years ago when she moved to Johnson Downie, a boutique executive search firm that specializes solely in partners of law firms, mergers and acquisitions, and new openings of law firms. In addition to overseeing the agreements, meetings, and travel for the employees, recruiters, candidates, and firms they are working with, she was recently tasked with the design and development of their new office space located in downtown Houston.
Prior to serving on the Board for the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), Christle held numerous leadership roles in two of the local GBTA Chapters. She has been an active member of the Texas Business Travel Association since 1995 where she served two consecutive two-year terms as President and then Chairman. She has also held the positions of Vice President – Allied for two separate terms, Treasurer, and chaired numerous committees. In addition, Christle was simultaneously involved in the Austin Business Travel Association where she served as Chairman, President, Secretary, and the Board of Directors – Allied Representative.
Always seeking to improve her knowledge in the industry, Christle earned her Certified Corporate Travel Executive (CCTE) designation from GBTA and Cornell University (2007), her Certificate of Professional Development for completion of The Global Leadership Professional Program at The Wharton School (2009), her Global Leadership Professional (GLP) Designation from The Wharton School (2010), and her Global Travel Professional (GTP) Certification (2012).
